18 years ago after teaching in traditional schools for many years, I had the opportunity to observe a Montessori classroom at work. This experience showed me a completely different approach in the way we help our children to learn their life-lasting skills. In a Montessori environment, students discover their innate abilities and develop a strong sense of independence, self-confidence, and discipline. They learn at their own pace, reaching beyond basic academic achievements without pressure in an atmosphere that encourages their love for challenge and learning. ~~ Nadia Pryszlak
I am very fortunate to have been introduced to the Montessori Method at Suntree Montessori when I arrived from New York more than 10 years ago. Having been educated in traditional education, I was most amazed at the way the children were working in Practical Life areas. All of the materials that I would have kept out of their reach were readily available to these children. The scissors and glass items were being used with purpose and care. The school as a whole is a small community in it’s self, from the staff to the children and their parents. Thank you for allowing me to join in. ~~ Jennie Moreno
